Question: fissured tongue? unfortunatly i have a fissured tongue...does anybody know if hooking up with someone with a fissured tongue feels differnet? and also, will brushing my tongue or whatever increase the fissures? thanks.

Answer: THERE IS NO WAY TO CHANGE A FISSURED TONGUE. THIS IS JUST THE WAY NATURE MADE IT. SCRAPPING IT WILL HELP TO KEEP IT CLEAN.

Answer: what i would do is just put ice on it.. that probobly the most you can do..and if it hurts just take some ibprofen.

Question: Can you pierce a Fissured Tongue? I have what is known as a Fissured Tongue (also known as Scrotal Tongue or Lingua Plicata). Does anyone know if piercing a Fissured Tongue causes any problems? Neither of my parents had a Fissured Tongue but my grandfather did. I've read that it is hereditary. I've never had any problems with it. Interested in a tongue piercing, but concerned.

Answer: tongue piercing is questionable even in a non fissured tongue. The infection rate is high and tooth breakage is possible. Also, try to imagine what kind of rep a pierced tongue gives a person. I am not against piercings or tattoos but I do think that the body art should be kept in places that can be covered by a normal dress or short sleeved shirt. This way when it becomes necessary to be conservative-you can. My son in law has a full sleeve tattoo and although he loves it, he has times when he thinks it is inappropriate and it is difficult to cover. I'd skip the piercing and get your hair done -or nails or whatever!!!!!

Question: Is a fissured tongue a turn off? Everytime i like stick my tongue out or show it in anyway my friends are like OMG thats so gross. I just tell them its common, but anywho would it be a turn off to a girl? I mean like if we madeout and she felt it?

Answer: your gonna have to wait it out. that happens to me all the time, but you just eat normal food if that makes sense. just dont eat anything sour for a while and you should be all set

Question: Effective remedies for Fissured Tongue? I several large fissures in my tongue (condition named as "Fissured Tongue") that can be quite painful when eating acidic foods like tomatoes. I didn't have this when I was younger and it seems to be getting worse with age. I've been taking vitamins everyday for a decade, including B vitamins but that does not seem to help.
