Question: how much does a hemifacial spasm surgery cost?
Answer: It depends, not only on the doctor's rates and the hospital's, but these are different types of the surgery that can be more difficult which raises the price. If you don't have insurance, I'd call a local hospital and ask to speak to a financial counselor about some type of low income assistance (they may write off 100% of the surgery) although I'm not sure if this surgery would be considered cosmetic which might change things. Be sure that you are calling a public hospital because they are much more likely to help you. Hope this helps to answer your question.
Question: Is there a cure for hemifacial spasm?
Answer: Yes.
Medications sometimes help control it, but surgery to make sure there is nothing compressing your facial nerve can cure it. This is brain surgery. If you do it, make sure you get a neurosurgeon who has done the procedure (microvascular decompression) sucessfully many times.
Question: what causes hemifacial spasm?
