Question: Smoking Weed right after getting a Diphtheria shot? I was preparing on smoking weed tomorrow with a friend, but also have an appointment to get a "Diphtheria" vaccine/shot from my doctor. My question is, Is it safe to smoke a joint after getting said vaccine? Within the hour?

Question: What would be a good introduction for a report on diphtheria for science class? I need a good intro for my project due tomorrow.
Answer: well, how bout' start with describing a person who suffer diphteria. for example:
Mrs. Jacob became so worried about his son's condition. He started to complain about his double vision, his skin also become pale...(include the symptoms of DIPHTERIA). Then, you follow it by define da' disease. well,GOOD LUCK!!
Question: How did diphtheria start?
Answer: What is the infectious agent that causes diphtheria?
Diphtheria is caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae, a bacterium. The bacterium produces a toxin (poison) that is carried in the bloodstream.
Where is diphtheria found?
Diphtheria is common in many parts of the world. Diphtheria bacteria live in the mouth, nose, throat, or skin of infected persons.
How do people get diphtheria?
Diphtheria spreads from person to person very easily. People get diphtheria by breathing in diphtheria bacteria after an infected person has coughed or sneezed. People also get diphtheria from close contact with discharges from an infected person's mouth, nose, throat, or skin.
What are the signs and symptoms of diphtheria?
Usually, diphtheria develops in the throat. Early symptoms are a sore throat and mild fever. A membrane that forms over the throat and tonsils can make it hard to swallow. The infection also causes the lymph glands and tissue on both sides of the neck to swell to an unusually large size.
Some people can be infected but not appear ill. They can also spread the infection.
Question: Why are kids under 5 and adults over 60 at highest risk for Diphtheria? Again, i have a science paper
Answer: dfgdfg
Question: Can someone help me cure diphtheria? Is it one of the mysteries for me to find? Theory:
1. it has something to do with the growth of corn
2. something to do with bluebirds and/or their eggs
3. it has something to do with when people used to be cannibalistic
4. something to do with a Stephen King-ish formation of random hymens in the human body
5. Something to do with the holding back of the growth of wildflowers
6. Something that is killing wild birds, causing it
7. Lack of natural fire usage
8. Caused by use of electricity
9. Caused by use of batteries
10. Some nutritional deficiency
Answer: Diphtheria (based on Greek διφθερα dipthera “pair of leather scrolls”), is an upper respiratory tract illness characterized by sore throat, low-grade fever, and an adherent membrane (a pseudomembrane) on the tonsil(s), pharynx, and/or nose.[1] A milder form of diphtheria can be restricted to the skin. It is caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae, a facultatively anaerobic Gram-positive bacterium.[2]
Diphtheria is a highly contagious disease spread by direct physical contact or breathing the aerosolized secretions of infected individuals. Once quite common, diphtheria has largely been eradicated in developed nations through wide-spread vaccination. In the United States for instance, between 1980 and 2004 there have been 57 reported cases of diphtheria[3] as the DPT (Diphtheria-Pertussis-Tetanus) vaccine is given to all school children. Boosters of the vaccine are recommended for adults since the benefits of the vaccine decrease with age; they are particularly recommended for those traveling to areas where the disease has not been eradicated.
The disease may remain manageable, but in more severe cases lymph nodes in the neck may swell, and breathing and swallowing will be more difficult. People in this stage should seek immediate medical attention, as obstruction in the throat may require intubation or a tracheotomy. In addition, an increase in heart rate may cause cardiac arrest. Diphtheria can also cause paralysis in the eye, neck, throat, or respiratory muscles. Patients with severe cases will be put in a hospital intensive care unit (ICU) and be given a diphtheria anti-toxin. Since antitoxin does not neutralize toxin that is already bound to tissues, delaying its administration is associated with an increase in mortality risk. Therefore, the decision to administer diphtheria antitoxin is based on clinical diagnosis, and should not await laboratory confirmation.
Antibiotics have not been demonstrated to affect healing of local infection in diphtheria patients treated with antitoxin. Antibiotics are used in patients or carriers to eradicate C. diphtheriae and prevent its transmission to others. The CDC recommends[7] either:
Erythromycin (orally or by injection) for 14 days (40 mg/kg per day with a maximum of 2 g/d), or
Procaine penicillin G given intramuscularly for 14 days (300,000 U/d for patients weighing <10 kg and 600,000 U/d for those weighing >10 kg). Patients with allergies to penicillin G or erythromycin can use rifampin or clindamycin.
Question: What is the longest-running reported case of diphtheria, ever?
Answer: months
Question: How do you get diphtheria? I was reading William Carlos Williams' short story, The Use of Force, and i was wondering how the little girl in the story got diphtheria. I know its caused by an acute infectious disease caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae and its highly contagious, but thats not the answer im looking for.
So basically, do you get it from being close to someone who has it, or like from sharing drinks, etc, etc?
Answer: Yes, you are partially right,
Diphtheria is transmitted from person to person via respiratory tract and secretions (nasal discharges). Rarely, transmission also occurs from the contact with the skin lesions and articles that are soiled with discharges from lesion.
Transmission may occur as long as the virulent bacteria present in the discharges and lesions.Without the treatment with an appropriate antibiotics, the bacilli persist for 2 weeks or less and seldom more than 4 weeks. Chronic carriers may shed the bacilli from their lesions even for 6 months.
Hope, this helps
Regards,
Question: How big is a diphtheria bacterium?
Answer: diptheria is scientifically known as: Corynebacterium diphtheriae
It is a rod shaped, facultatively anaerobic Gram positive bacteria and occurs in the varying sizefrom 1 - 8 micrometers long by 0.3 - 0.8 micrometers wide.
Question: Describe the programs by health authorities and government in preventing diphtheria and polio ?
Answer: Which nation are you talking about? In India it is the National Polio Surveillance Project, in Nepal it is IPD, in other nations there could be others.
Basically, Polio eradication efforts are a joint effort by the WHO and the local Government supported by the CDC, the Rotary, the Unicef at international level and many a other organizations and NGOs at local levels.
Question: 3 days of extreme belching, yellow diphtheria, and bloated stomach. What do I have, what should I do? Please help
Answer: go to a doctor, idiot
Question: Diphtheria? What is the classification (Genus Species) and Defense (specific and nonspecific) of Diphtheria
Answer: It is caused by Corynebacterium diptheriae. It's defense mechanism is its diptheria toxin production.

Question: Hi, i am 14 so i have gotta have the Tetanus, Polio & Diphtheria Injection? Does it hurt?!? I have gotta have it soon for school and i am not like totally freaked with needles but not exactly comfortable if you know what i mean. Aparently i have gotta have it in my shoulder so it won't be too bad hopefully but i really don't want it to hurt badly.

Answer: As soon as you notice it hurt, it stops hurting. Just concentrate on something on the far wall, and before you know it, it'll be over.
The tetanus can have some residual dull achiness, but nothing you would really be bothered by.
