Answer: Sadly, I don't think there is anything to notice anthrax, links below, but packages we are just told to look for anything sucpicous. That means, I think, unusual look, or unique to every other package in some way. I doubt the Police or bomb people would mind if you were just concerned, but, there should be a risk Assesment plan in your work place, or an emergency plan for these eventualities, is there?

Answer: Yes, the post office has machines, just like the airports do, to detect anthrax and other chemicals that might be in mail.

Answer: Mikeswoman, If your husband received the anthrax vaccine, he should ask the medical person who gave him the shot(s) what to expect. This vaccine, which I have received in the past, is usually reserved for military and/or medical researchers and personnel. He should also report his reaction and ask any questions. The formaldehyde in the vaccine usually causes the stinging, as it also does in the tetanus vaccine. It should disappear within 48 hours. The Anthrax Vaccine Immunization Program is a Department of Defense initiative to protect military personnel against the threat of anthrax. Surveillance for adverse events associated with anthrax vaccination has shown that mild local reactions are not uncommon while systemic reactions are extremely rare. The anthrax vaccine is given as a series of six shots plus an annual booster as part of the Anthrax Vaccination Program for military personnel. Answer: anthrax is generally grown in eggs, so if someone has an allergy to eggs, they can't have the vaccine. It is also a very limited supply, so most of the general public can't get the vaccine at all without very good reason, like going to a known area of infestation.

Answer: ALL mail sent through the US Postal System is irradiated to kill any possible Anthrax or any other chemical or biological agent being sent through the mail. This was put into place after the incident years ago with Anthrax. All packages are also "sniffed" by a machine for any explosive material. Some even get x-rayed. Even if a person places corn starch or baby powder in an envelope & mails it to someone claiming the powder to be Anthrax or any other chemical or biological agent, it is a federal offense & the penalties are severe. You can notify your Postmaster General that this person may try to seek revenge or notify the police if you are truly fearful for your life & safety,

Answer: A small, increased risk of birth defects has been found when women receive the anthrax vaccine during the first trimester of pregnancy. I do not know of any studying the effects of men receiving the vaccine. Even if there were evidence of increased birth defects, there is no way for your husband to "get checked" about whether your next offspring would be affected. Birth defects are the result of subtle genetic defects in sperm or egg. There's no test to detect whether or not those defects are present. Sorry for such an uncertain answer. Basically, there is no test you can do to know if your husband is more likely to produce a child with birth defects, so you'll need to make your own decision.

Answer: The media knew about it all along. The prime suspect was an American working at Ft Detrick until he sued and got 5 million dollars. They just did not play up the inside job scenario because that would have cast doubt on the entire 9/11 operation. Daschle and Lehey were opposed to the Patriot Act.
