Question: Greatest common factor II? Can anyone help me find the greatest common factor of
15a^3b, 12a^2b^2, and 27ab^3? Thanks guys
Answer: 15a^3b = 3 * 5 * a^3 * b
12a^2b^2 = 2 * 2 * 3 * a^2 * b^2
27ab^3 = 3 * 3 * 3 * a * b^3
--------------------------------------…
The GCF of 15a^3b , 12a^2b^2 , 27ab^3 is:
3 * a * b
= 3ab
Question: Can somebody please help me factor (Algebra II)? Can somebody help me factor both of these and explain how to?
All exponents with over 1 character in brackets.
h^2r^8-k^(2/3)r^8-h^2s+k^(2/3)s
4x^2+9y^2
Answer: Greetings,
Factor by grouping,
r^8 ( h^2 - k^2/3) - s(h^2 - k^2/3)
(r^8 - s) ( h^2 - k^2/3 )
(r^8 - s)(h + k^(1/3))(h - k^(1/3))
4x^2 + 9y^2 is already in factored form
Regards
Question: How do I factor this Algebra II equation? 2x^2- 5x -3
Answer: Factor[2 x^2 - 5 x - 3] = (x -3) (2 x +1)
Question: What factor does location play in deciding a nation's history? In World War I or World War II? best answer 10 points
Answer: Very important. Some countries are more remote from trade points, belligerent enemies, and population centres, so can remain free from war and attack. Finland for instance remained unaffected by many wars going on in the centre of Europe. When it was attacked by Russia, the fact it was Snowy and inhospotible meant that the smaller armies fo Finland could hold off the larger armies of Russia. Tibet remained free from the Chinese and other countries because it was remote and hard to get to.
Countries surrounded by mountains are often safer because of this strategic advantage. It means the military can control the moutain passes into a country, so it is very hard to invade. Switzerland is a prime example, as is Georgia.
Also being an Island can help... Hitler couldn't attack Britain because it was an Island, which basically saved the British in WW2. Australia has never been attacked by a foreign country - the Japanese in WW2 couldn't mount a Sea Invasion as it would have been too complex.
Question: factor algebra II equation? pretty easy, but I cant remember how exactly you are supposed to factor it.
(x^3+8)
Answer: (a³ + b³) = (a + b)(a² - ab + b²)
a³ = x³
b³ = 8
a = x
b = 2
x³ + 8 = (x + 2)(x² - 2x + 4)
Question: Can somebody help me factor these (Algebra II)? Can somebody help me factor both of these and explain how to?
All exponents with over 1 character in brackets.
h^2r^8-k^(2/3)r^8-h^2s+k^(2/3)s
4x^2+9y^2
Answer: h^2r^8-k^(2/3)r^8-h^2s+k^(2/3)s
This is a like terms problem, just a hard like terms problem.
in h^2r^8 - k^(2/3)r^8 share a r^8
h^2s+k^(2/3)s both share an s (actually we need a -s, you'll see, but if you guess wrong, you would just try again)
r^8( h^2-k^(2/3) ) -s ( h^2-k^(2/3) )
notice that both have (h^2-k^(2/3)) as like terms
(r^8 - s) (h^2-k^(2/3))
4x^2+9y^2
this has the pattern where a^2+b^2=(a+bi)(a-bi)
where a=2x and b=3y and i is the imaginary number (i^2=-1)
4x^2+9y^2=(2x+3yi)(2x-3yi)
or
9y^2+4^2=(3y+2xi)(3y-2yi)
hope this helped!
Question: Algebra II - Factor completely: 25a^2 – 60ab + 36b^2?
Answer: 25a^2 – 60ab + 36b^2
this is a perfect square trinomial. You are studying the pattern for these types of expressions, right ?
(5a - 6b)^2 = ?
Do the multiplication. You can do it.
Question: Algebra II. Factor? Solve by factoring
-12x^2+19x-4=0
Answer: Solve by factoring
-12x^2+19x-4=0
Pull out -1 first:
-1(12x² - 19x + 4) = 0
so, 12x² - 19x + 4 = 0
Now factor by grouping, Need 4 terms so remain the -19x:
12x² + -16x + -3x + 4 = 0
Then, 4x(3x - 4) + -1(3x - 4) = 0
and, (4x - 1)(3x - ) = 0
So, 4x -1 = 0 or 3x - 4 = 0
x = 1/4 or 4/3
Question: Algebra II. Factor x^2+5x-14?
