Question: Where is the best place to go for scar-revision? I have a lot of little scars on my legs from previous surgeries that I would like removed. The scars are located on both legs from the knees all the way down to the ankle. I've been told that this is a "tricky" area to do scar revision. I need help finding the best plastic surgeon for scar removal to take a look at my case.
Answer: All you can do is ask around and then 'interview' a few surgeons. They will tell you the truth about how much good they can do for you. Pick one that you like and believe in...but if they tell you they can't really do much...then I guess you just have to hope that your legs are cute enough that the scars don't matter much! ♥
Question: scar revision? i have a 2 inch scar in my forhead i like to remove it by plastic surgery i checked with few doctors in india chennai and every one is telling that the scar can be minimized and cant be removed completly i like to know is there any chance to remove it completly ? and like to know better surgeon for scar removal .
Answer: You cannot remove a scar, to surgically remove a scar you have to make another one. There are certain procedures that can minimize and make them less visible. You can also use certain scar repairing products or vitamin E oil capsules.
I hope this helps, good luck!
Question: I have a history of Keloids. I had neck surgery about 2 years ago and am thinking about scar revision? Luckily, I do not have a keloid, but a hypertrophic scar. I have done injections and laserings, but nothing has helped. I am looking into doing scar revisions (excision). Anyone had any experiences with this?
Answer: No, but do be sure to find a doctor who has extensive knowledge and experience working with brown skin.
Most likely different scar treatments exist for all skin types.
Question: I went for scar revision a month back. Which cream will help me get rid of the revision scars sooner? I had a stitch mark and a scar on my body caused by an accident a few years back. I went for scar revision of these scars a month back. Which cream will help me get rid of the new revision scars as soon as possible, contractubex or mederma? which one is more effective, as i'm getting mixed reviews for both. Also, how long will it take to show results. Thanks
Answer: Not sure which cream is best, but definitely try and massage the scar tissue around the area, this helps a lot. I stepped on a broken bottle at the beach severely cutting my foot and I mean severely. Took a few years but the scars are finally disappearing.
Question: How much would a scar revision will cost? I was think of fixing my scars around my legs.it is not big, just about the size of a penny.but about seven of them.Who much do you think it might cost?
Answer: let your natural beauty shine through your gorgeous i bet.
Rather than spending money on a "scar revision" you could be searching in a store for clothes that could slowly critique that look stay beautiful and leave the scar itll shrink and they wont even know its ther..
srry bbut if its a big one i cant help yu cuz you might wunna consider bigger or baggy clothes um i dunno

The main one that I want to be removed is about 10 inches long.
How much do you think it would cost?
I live in Texas, but I would consider going to California for it because that's where I'm originally from.
I'm a college student BTW. On a budget, but anxious to get rid of these scars!!!
Any way to finance them?
My friend said that if it causes emotional distress insurance will cover it.
It definitely causes me emotional distress!

Answer: I had a horrible scar from thyroid surgery. My surgeon did a revision and sent the scar for testing. It showed that I form hypertrophic scar tissue after deep cuts. The scar came back within a few months of the revision. It has now been almost 12 years since my revision and the scar has started to soften and fade. I would consult a plastic surgeon to determine the type of scar you have before even thinking of surgery.
Question: Is there such thing as Scar revision? I've had some major surgery and have significant scarring. I have used silicone strips vitamine e and other ots topical stuff. Surgery was 2 years ago and I am pretty self concious of someone seeing them when I take my clothes off or wear a bathing suit....
I am caucasion, I tan very easily. Is it just too early for them to have faded to full potential? Is this something that can be altered or revised by a plastic surgeon?
Answer: There is such a thing as scar revision. You can never completely get rid of a scar, but you can reduce the appearance of some scars. If it really bothers you, it's worth talking to a plastic surgeon about. You mentioned wearing a bathing suit, which reminded me of something. It is very important to keep scars out of sunlight while they are healing. Sun exposure can make a scar worse. Good luck.
Question: Can scar revision surgery, be done on the NHS? I have a facial scar, which is slightly sunken & discolored.
It makes my face look disfigured.
Answer: In theory it should be possible.
Things to consider are:
1) surgery will itself result in a scar - will that be any better then the one you have?
2) it might not be possible to actually do the revision possibly because of its location etc
3) it might take some time to get a date for the op.
First thing to do is have a chat with your GP and take it from there.
