Question: I need to find a book on piebaldism.? i cant seem to find very specific information on it. NOT vitilgo, or albino, but piebaldism. any ideas?
Answer: I did find one book that has piebaldism as the subject. It's titled "Vitiligo and Piebaldism" by Mats J. Olsson. Here's a link to the book at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Vitiligo-Piebaldis…
Also, there are lots of websites dealing with the subject and they seem to have quite a bit of info on piebaldism including symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. I've listed a few of the better sites below:

http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/11…

Question: Is the X-man rogue's white hair meant to be like Piebaldism? Rogue.

Girl with Piebaldism

Answer: I don't believe it was deliberately intended to be Piebaldism. More than likely it was simply intended to be a harmless outward mark of Rogue's mutant power, though probably inspired by someone with Piebaldism as in the consultantlive.com photo.
Question: Can any dermatologist help me? (piebaldism)? Hi, I am seventeen years old and I was told I had piebaldism. It's very depressing having this condition. A couple of weeks back I was asked by a friend if I wanted to go to the swimming baths, I said no but really I wanted to, but I don't want to show certain parts of my body. My real question is there a treatment were I can hide it or get rid of it. Please help someone (anyone).
Thank you
Jason
Answer: Hi Jason,
I'm not a dermatologist, but I share your pain. I was online doing research and came across your question, creating an account to answer it. I'm 25. Dermablend is a great product, water resistant if you use the recommended powder and let it dry completely. I am currently using UVB narrowband, it is a slow process but it is definitely working (I purchased one online from Australia~$800). It's dangerous playing with light so definitely do your research and be careful. If I could afford the surgical route I would, as it is a 90-100% repigmentation for pie baldism. Summer is definitely the worst, but I bet if you got the courage to share with a friend/s you trust, you'd be suprised how fast they accept. My friends, once I finally let them (showed them) were amazing and incidently strangers seem to matter less and less. Anyways, hoped this helped, remember it's only skin deep...you're still you. ~Rachel
Question: SERIOUS help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!needed!!!!!... In the same mouse species, a fourth unlinked gene (gene P/p) also affects fur color.
* For mice that are either homozygous dominant (PP) or heterozygous (Pp), the organism’s fur color is dictated by the other three genes (A/a, B/b, and C/c).
* For mice that are homozygous recessive (pp), large patches of the organism’s fur are white. This condition is called piebaldism.
In a cross between two mice that are heterozygous for agouti, black, color, and piebaldism, what is the probability that offspring will have solid black fur along with large patches of white fur?
Answer: Because each gene segregates independently, you need to determine the probability of each genotype independently and then multiply the four probabilities together. The probability of offspring with solid color (aa) is 1/4; the probability of offspring with black fur (BBor Bb) is 3/4; the probability of colored fur (CCor Cc) is 3/4; and the probability of piebald, or white patches (pp), is 1/4. The combined probability is1/4 x 3/4 x 3/4 x 1/4 = 9/256.
Hope it helps
