Question: molluscum contagiosum? can you get reinfected with molluscum contagiosum after you've already had it and your body's gotten rid of it?
Answer: Yes. It's not something you become immune to. It's essentially like a sexually transmitted disease. If you have sex with someone with M.C. after you've been treated, you can get it again. The same is true of gonorrhea, chlamydia, etc.
Question: molluscum contagiosum>>>? i went to the gyno for the first time and find out i have this... i don't think i got it sexually transmitted disease.. what other ways can i get it? It is just a virus... i had a staph infection back in june from the hospital.. could molluscum contagiosum be tied to my staph infection? Thanks.
Answer: Have you researched this on WebMd? This website may be able to give you the answers you want. Otherwise, you should have asked this question of your gynecologist who could have given you the answer. You can always call them tomorrow and ask this question.
Question: How do I keep from getting Molluscum Contagiosum? My friend has the skin virus Molluscum Contagiosum. What can I do to stop from getting the virus also? Please help!
Answer: Do not share clothes or towels. It is spread by skin on skin contact.... dont rub it, or try to pop them or anything like that, and ull be just fine.
You should tell your friend to get them removed, it helps cure them, if they dont, they may take years to go away.
Question: Can you cure molluscum contagiosum with vinegar apple cidar or duct tape? I was wondering if using vinegar apple cidar or duct tape to remove molluscum contagiosum worked? How do you preform these treatments? Please share any experiences!
Answer: Vinegar won't work, duct tape can.
Question: How do I get rid of Molluscum contagiosum? I caught a case of Molluscum contagiosum on my thigh from my local gym in like Nov. My Dr has cut the lesions off. I've gone in twice for this. I have scars all over my thighs... and I still have new lesions. Does anyone have experience with getting rid of them for good?
Answer: Oy vey. Stupid Molluscum. I'm 14 and i've been suffering with Molloscum for a few months. I've been trying and trying to get rid of them but nothing seems to work! I got them removed as well but they came back.
I did try apple cider vinegar. Put it on a piece of cotton and then cover it with a band-aid. Remove it the next day, or in 24 hours.
After I did this it became black as if it were burned and it fell off. Now there its flat and gone but the place where it used to be is slightly discolored, but there are tons of exfoliators that will get rid of that.
Hope this helps, and I truly wish you good luck (:
Question: I am wondering if anyone else has any experience in curing Molluscum contagiosum? I was recently diagnosed with Molluscum Contagiosum and was wondering if anyone has any experience with these "herbal" or "silver" remedies available over the internet? I do not want to go through the usual pain and discomfort of having then burnt/frozen/cut off.
Answer: i was told by my doctor that they go away on their own, but it can take up to a year. she said there was no other way to get rid of them besides the options you mentioned. so i guess you would have to either do that or just live with it til it goes away!
Question: Can sexually acquired Molluscum Contagiosum spread through sharing Towels and toilet seats? I asked my doctor (a well known STD specialist) and he told me that Molluscum Contagiosum can not spread through sharing Towels etc. (contaminated objects) because the virus can not survive so long. On the other hand many websites say that it could be spread through contaminated objects. Are the Virus strains of Molluscum Contagiosum which are spread through Sexual contacts and as opposed to those which normally affect children different?
Answer: True, walk in Bill Murray's psycological "What about Bob" syndrome.
Question: Using vinegar apple cider to treat molluscum contagiosum? What exactly do you do to use vinegar apple cider to treat molluscum contagiosum? Does it work well? Would you recommend using it on children?
Answer: As you've asked about apple cider vinegar, you are obviously interested in natural, alternative or non-drug treatments.
You may be interested in another natural alternative that is often used with children - lemon myrtle essential oil. Read this at Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molluscum_contagiosum
You can also read the information below at http://www.lemonmyrtleessentials.com/molluscum.htm
We have many customers who purchase Lemon Myrtle Essentials for this condition.
Other articles: Essential oil of Australian lemon myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) in the treatment of molluscum contagiosum in children http://digg.com/u13unh and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15183850
We've had positive feedback - see testimonial page - www.lemonmyrtleessentials.com/molluscum.…
Current available studies state that it works in most cases (90%), as happens for natural remedies. However it's a very low cost item - the 100% pure organic essential oil (10ml) is AUD $17 plus $11 shipping, so the risk is not huge in relation to the potential benefit. Plus you can use it for so many other things - see www.lemonmyrtleessentials.com/ausessenti… that it would never be wasted! Lemon Myrtle essential oil is potentially a skin irritant at 100% strength, so it's best to dilute to 10% in a pure vegetable oil (olive, sunflower etc) before applying topically on the affected area. You can gradually increase dilution to 30%-50% as other users have reported good results for molluscum at these strengths, but be cautious, test first and go back to 10% if necessary. (For more general skin applications, ie, relaxation and massage, please dilute to 1% or less).
Recommended Lemon Myrtle Essentials remedies to alleviate Molluscum Contagiosum:
Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil (100% pure strength) $17 - most popular if just choosing one
Lemon Myrtle Soothing Balm $13
Lemon Myrtle Self-Foaming Liquid Soap $12
All the products in the Lemon Myrtle Essentials range** are Certified Organic to the highest and purest standards, and would all be helpful for treating the condition, but the above are synergistic in their benefits.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to ask for further info if you need to..

Question: how do i get Genital Molluscum Contagiosum? Im 15 years old i have a small whitehead(i believe or skin colored) pimple like bumb in the penal area where all the hair is. I looked in the internet the best thing i could find was Genital Molluscum Contagiosum so im guessing that it is that for now. Im still a virgin never had any kind of sex. I think its my school since I have also gotten Herpes near the mouth as well but still havent had sex. I also have impotigo (cant spell it) so it would be easy for the Herpes thing but how would i get anything near the penal area. Might help but the bump (really small) is around a hair. Not sure if it will help to know that.
dont wanna pop it or anything it hurts if i press it and i dont like pain XD
Answer: If it's a bump around a hair follicle, that might be folliculitis. Is it painful? Molluscum contagiosum is a viral infection transmitted via direct contact. It doesn't usually appear around hair follicles, and there is a characteristic umbilication at the center of the bump (although this is not always seen). If that was Molluscum, you might have given it to yourself, since nobody has ever touched you as you said. If you have no molluscum in any other part of the body, it is improbable that that is molluscum. If it is around a hair, I'm guessing that's probably folliculitis, especially if that is just a single bump. It is just a bacterial infection of a hair follicle which resolves in a few days.
Question: Can I have sex with molluscum contagiosum? How long does and outbreak of molluscum contagiosum last and what can I do to make it go away?
Answer: generally between 2-3 months and you can do nothing about it. It will resolve by itself.
