Question: What is the difference between ecthyma and pyoderma? Are they the same? What is the definition of each of them? I'm confused.

Answer: Two different conditions, SF. Ecthyma is deep skin infection, a more severe and deeper form of the Staph infection impetigo. By proderma I assume you mean pyoderma gangrenum, a non-infectious necrotic skin condition. Pyoderma gangrenum is not infectious (although it may look like an infection). It is probably an autoimmune reaction like rheumatoid arthritis and chron'c disease. (In fact, it sometime appears along with autoimmune diseases).
