I am also applying to some in states college, like UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke University. I would like to go out of state for college though.
Answer: I'm not going to duplicate what the previous answerer said, since he pretty much covered the basics..
However, you must know that on the UC application, you are VERY limited to the amount of extracurriculars that you can include. While it seems you have a lengthy list, you really lack consistency. When applying, choose awards and activities that are related. Colleges would prefer to see that you had an interest that you stuck with, rather than the fact that you've been involved in handfuls and handfuls of clubs, but only for a short amount of time.
I would suggest applying at a "safety" UC school, perhaps UC Santa Barbara or UC Irvine.
As for financial aid...in the UC system, it is given on an as needed basis. They will expect you to pay a certain amount based on your family income, and they will pay the rest. If you can not afford that extra amount, there are always loans and various unrelated scholarships you can receive. THAT is the area that your extracurriculars will come in handy.
Remember, tuition costs in the UC system are nearly doubled for those who are out of state.
