Question: Aggression? I need serious help regarding my dogs aggression with strangers?
She is a very loyal dogs and good with kids and other dogs. But with any stranger she becomes very aggressive.
I have to lock her up or hold her so she dont get loose and bite. She is fine with some of my family but she seems to target men more then women. How do i teach her to stop on command or to get this habit of aggression stoped?
Answer: You will need to work one on one with a behavorial trainer in your area. They need to come into your home and see whatthe dogs does and when and all that inforamtion is best done in person.
I work with aggressive dogs mostly Dobermans I do behavorial modification for a rescue.
You will need help of someone with experience with assertive aggressive dogs.
Your best bet is to crate the dog any time you have a stranger in your home.
Depending on breed you may never be able to vocally control this dog. It will take time a effort on your part and that of your family. FOr the safety of all involved,
Find a trainer and get some help.
Question: How to reduce aggression between 2 male dwarf gouramis? I have 2 male (one red, one blue) dwarf gourmis whom I have introduced together into a 20 gallon tank with other non-agressive fish. In the beginning, they often left each other alone, but recently they have both become aggressive toward each other, chasing and poking.
What should I do to relive their aggression? Would it be alright to add a female dwarf gourmai? If so, how many?
I have a few plants in the tank. Should I add more?
Answer: ya the dwarfs are hit and miss..
sometimes in a big tank 2 males will set up territories on either side and fight a little during the day but be peaceful at night.
the best setups usually are 1 male and 2-3 females etc..
or if you have 2 tanks separate them
or take one back to the fish store and replace with something else
or let them set up there territories and see if they calm down
or 2 major hiding spots on either side of the tank
or introduce like 4 females to keep them busy (you may get spawning then even bigger battles though) that's a new ball of wax to research.
see when they first hit your tank there were no territories established, now there settled and competing, one may torment the weaker one constantly
gouramies other than honeys are usually very territorial based fish.
another idea that sometimes works (few absolutes in the hobby) is most gouramies don't like fish bigger than them in tank. It makes them nervous, they may go from agressive to alot of hiding. Sometime boistorius fish like long finned danois can do the same thing. There a very active fish and gouramies don't like that at all swimming in the tank with them.
good luck!!!

Answer: You have written a dichotomatic statement.
Agression is an instinct in animals.
Humans are animals (wether you like it or not)

I'm sorry, you can't have it both ways.
Question: How can I stop a food aggression in my kittens? I have 3, four month old kittens and they have a wicked food agression. They growl at the food bowl and even the water bowl. Happen to drop food on the floor and it's a free for all. They hiss and growl and claw you if you try to take it away. None of my other cats have this food aggression so why do they? How can I stop it before it becomes a HUGE issue?
Answer: I put the kitten into a cage when I fed it by itself.
Question: Can aggression be a side effect of anesthesia in dogs? My dog had to have 2 surgeries one week apart. He seemed OK after the surgeries but about 2 weeks later he bit me on the face. I would never have believed that he would have done this to me. My vet advised me to put him to sleep. I am trying to understand what happened. Has anyone heard of or experienced anything about anesthesia causing aggression in dogs. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Irratibility is a symptom in humans from like pain medications.(i just had my wisdom teeth taken out and the lorcets they gave me....or anything with hydrocodone makes me have like random rages) Im almost possitive anesthesia had something to do with it.

Question: How does aggression affect our world, or just people in general? I have to write a psych paper, and I'm looking for some extra examples of the affects of aggression on our world, or on people.
Thanks in advance!
Answer: Acts of aggression dont have to be huge to have an impact. An ex of this was when I was grocery shopping the other day and while I was looking at the packaging label another shopper crashed into and pushed past my cart. Now in itself it wasnt an issue because i wasnt hurt but the rudeness and aggression with which it was done unnerved me, usually I would have worried about it or been apologetic however assertively I said 'excuse me would have helped' I think to many people are becoming aggressive and angry and its not a nice way to live, I think it feeds illnesses such as ulcers and cancer (my opinion not based on fact) and I think people need to think about their responsibility in a situation. These days people seem to be doing more and more of what they want and when with little regard of consequences or their responsibility for themselves and others. Driving down the road can incite aggression because people are in such a hurry to get to where they are going they cut corners and take chances that they should be taking. The faster the world gets the worse the aggression and the worse society gets as it loses its empathy, sympathy and compassion.
Question: How do you teach a dog to display aggression on command? I have a 1 year old St Bernard that I want to display aggression on command. I DO NOT want him to attack but just look aggressive, like growling, barking, lunging on the leash and baring teeth. How do you do this?
Why does it matter??
Answer: its things like this that people do with other animals that give them a bad rep, why do you think so many people are afraid of pits and why everyone thinks they are bad dogs, if you are worried about protection your dog will show aggression when they see a threat to you or it but no one should want there dog to be able to be like that.
you asked the question!
It matters because people like you are the reason certain dogs are being banned and the reason some breeds have a bad rep, if you did not want peoples opinions then you should not have asked the question
