Question: Is there a disease where you pick out your hair one string at a time, if its true what is it called? I was told you pick one string out of your head at a time because you like the way it feels, I said there is no such thing I never heard if it. If it is true where can I find information on it.
Answer: It's true, it's a compulsive disorder called trichotillomania. And there are many people out there that do it. My mom and I personally do it (she does it a lot more than I do though). But we both like the way it feels - it's actually really relaxing for me. Half the time I don't even realize I am doing it. I'll be reading or just relaxing watching TV and I'll find myself doing it. It might be a little strange, but it's really not as uncommon as people seem to think.

Question: I need help with insurance questions for Pick' Disease. Can someone help me? A friend of mine is suffering from this disease and his wife cannot get home help or assistance because he is still mobile and not on any medication.
My friend is 56 and is at the 4 year old level that wanders away from home and chokes on food. He needs 24 hour watching and it has become impossible
Answer: Your friend will have to go to court and get complete power of attorney over her husband.A judge will not deny her of this once he sees he is a level 4.If they have children she should transfer any assets over to the one she trusts the most.If there is no money involved or a home there will be no problems. She needs to qualify for medicare or medicaid. They will pay all the medical bills and pay for some help if she keeps him home. They will pay should he require going into a nursing home also.Maybe they were prolonging it but I do not know why they would not help her. This is a progressive disease that will not get better.Maybe she should see a lawyer also. There is also help if at any time he served in the armed forces. He would be able to get help thru the VA..See they will use up all of her money first and then let her get medicare which is unfair. Most people avoid this. It's almost better to have nothing because you can qualify for help. It's very unfair but that's how they do it.Good Luck to you and your friend!
Question: Is there a disease that would make you pick off your eye brows and eat them? I asked these girls why another girl only had half an eyebrow and they said she had a serious disease that makes you eat your eyebrows. I coulnt tell if they were kidding or not, because I asked other people and they said it was true. It might just be a rumor but idk...
=] thanks
Answer: Hey honey
Yes. In actual fact there is. Its not only eyebrows either. I used to have a form of this illness but overcame it with psychiatric help :]
The pulling of hair (head hair, eyelashes, eyebrows, pubic) is called Trichotillomania. This is what I had with my head hair. The disease which makes you eat the bulb of the hair is called Trichophagia and is probably what this girl has (if these other girls were not lying)
Hope I Helped, and if this is true, pleasedont tease the girl in question. She cannot control it and is probably very sensitive of it.
