Question: Heart problem or just something periodic? during easter vacations, i experienced a truly horrid situation.
while i was trying to sleep, my heart started beating really fast, and i was fully paralyzed for some seconds. i couldn't move my legs and hands and i was trying to call for help but i couldn't speak. after some seconds it stopped.but it happened a lot of nights, i could have 5 immobility attacks. suddenly it stopped, but another night i experienced it again.do you know what it is? and if it's serious enough to visit a doctor, or wait for it to strike again?
Answer: If it only happens when you are trying to sleep or waking up, then it sounds like Sleep Paralysis. Its quite common and pretty harmless (though scary). Typically someone will find themselves unable to move or speak, and sometimes will feel very strongly a presence in their room (happened to me before). The racing heart was probably due to the panic of not being able to move. Sometime people feel they can't breath. The symptoms pass quickly and completely. Usually happen in bed falling asleep or waking up. For reassurance you could still see your doctor, but as long as you're not experiencing any other problems (and as long as your getting enough sleep) no need to worry.
Question: Is there anyway to give dogs their vaccinations yourself? I have run into a marital situation that has paralyzed my financially cut off. I rescue as many dogs as I can and thanks to the contributions of a new rescue, my responsiblity of ten dogs doubled. All of this is happening at the exact time of year when they are all due for shots, wormer, frontline, heartguard, etc. Not to mention the special care that required a financial commitment before the new pups,.... A Doberman blinded by Diabetes and needs insulin twice a day....an elderlyn Border Collie/Dalmation mix that has a weight problem which contributes to his arthritis pain,....a Chow mix that suffers from periodic seizures, ....a St. Bernard/ mix that has a severe skin condition that I am constantly having tested to locate the cause., but meanwhile has to take steroids and medicateed baths. etc....
With a total of 20 dogs that need vaccinations, wormed, frontline and heartguard, is there any suggestions that might be able to help me without resorti
Answer: i think you have to retain a licence for purchasing and administering vetinary medication, some animal drugs
are instantly fatal to humans and other animals, training to be a vet is harder than becoming a doctor because of the vast amount of animal types that there are,a doctor has only 3 types to learn about man woman and child.

Question: I'm losing my mind!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP? I have either severe RLS (Restless Legs Syndrome) or PLMD (Periodic Limb Movement Disorder)...Every time I finally drift off to sleep, my whole body, mostly my legs, jerk EXTREMELY VIOLENTLY that pratically gave me an heart attack when I sleep, and sometimes it shooks so hard I actually either fall off the bed or hit my foot aganist the wall and it really hurts. Sometimes the PLMD is so violent, I end up shake my head up or down really hard, I pratically sprained my neck. Now I'm afraid Im gonna break my neck and become paralyzed when I go back to sleep.
Ive been having this for the last one year and Its driving me crazy and into depression because I cannot sleep at all without waking up every two minutes totally petrified, and scared to go back to sleep knowing I'll experience another attack like this. I try to ignore it, but its impossible. It's like my body is refusing to let me to sleep. It have actually affected my GPA because I almost never get enuff sleep to focus in classes, I lost my appitate and motiavation in everything else cuz i cant even freakin sleep. I tried taking sleeping pills...but it just makes my legs jerk even more violently than when Im on the pills. Im starting to think my body is trying to keep me from falling asleep. I even dislocated my right knee from jerking it violently. I cannot take this anymore. Ive went to three different doctors and they all said there were nothing wrong with me. I dont know what to do anymore. I've havent had a decent night's sleep for over one year. I'm getting to the point where I just give up and put a pistol in my mouth.
Anybody else have the same problem???? If so, pls let me know how to go it away so I dont have to live with it for the rest of my life!!!
Btw Im in my 3rd year in college and my GPA have severely diminished due to lack of sleep beacuse of this. I cannot think or remember anymore
And also forgot to add, I look so terrible from insufficent sleep and didnt do well in school..my parents thought I was on drugs and they disowned me...Im like wtf I didnt do anythin wrong and I dont do drugs and I lost a girl that we used to like each other cuz I accidently kicked her and injured her in bed because of that and now she left me. Ive tried telling people about this but they think Im lying or just being a total pussy. This is ruining my life, seriously, i feel like ive lost everybody I kno and no point for me to continue living.
Answer: I have restless leg syndrome and I have been treated by a neurologist for this. I have been very fortunate that the treatment has been effective in reducing the restless legs. I even had a severe tremor of my hand which caused me to not be able to hold a plate at parties and I stopped going to parties altogether. The neurologist also placed me on medication and the tremor is so very slight compared to what it was that I was unable to stop two of the medications which I was placed on. It is such a joy to be able that my restless leg syndrome is not as severe. Try going to a neurologist or ask your doctor for a referral to a neurologist and hopefully you will be able to get some relief with all that you are suffering with.
Question: Facial Numbness and Paralysis? If a person suffers from facial numbness, including dry eyes, and this worsens into twitchy muscles, what would you say it is?
Here are some more details. In the initial situation, the numbness progressed for 4-5 days before the muscle spasms began. After about 2 days of muscle spasms, the half of the face that was affected became completely paralysed. Anti-virals did nothing, and MRI came up with nothing. Prednisone solved all issues within 24 hours, but needed to be taken for two weeks before symptoms did not return without it.
When sensation returned, there was intense pain along lines (across forehead, across cheek and base of jaw).
Since then, there are periodic bouts of numbness and eye flutters that can be controlled with anti-inflammatory meds.
Any ideas what it could be? Doctors I've seen don't seem to have any ideas.
I don't think that there is a neurologist in the city on the island I live on, but thanks for your thoughts...
Nope, no oral ulcers... Although the episodes are more likely when another health issue arises (like a cold).
Answer: follow up with your neurologist.
