Question: Question about multiple system atrophy? My dad was just recently diagnosed with multiple system atrophy and going down hill fast at his last doctors appointment they said there are parts deep in his brain not functioning at all, over the past year he has gone through extensive therapy for his balance, gross motor skills and speech which at the time seemed to help but has gotten worse over time again now the doctors said we play the waiting game, wait to see if cancer shows up or just wait for him to get worse. My question is does anyone know about this disease or if there is anything we can do except wait. thanks
Answer: Multiple system atrophy, or MSA, has no cure. It is a degenerative disorder of the brain that is neither hereditary nor due to another condition. If he has a firm diagnosis then encourage him to get his affairs in order, and spend time with each other. I'm sorry.
Question: What exactly IS MSA[multiple system atrophy]? Does anyone know anything about this disorder and it's therapies if any? Is there any information on what causes it?
Answer: well atrophy is the degeneration (wasting away) of a muscle...i am asuming that multiple is the degeneration of several muscles...
Question: christian group multiple systems atrophy?
Answer: I'm understanding that you are looking for Christian groups that provide support for people with multiple systems atrophy.
I don't know of any specific groups, but http://www.cns-forum.com/ appears to be a discussion group for Christians who have neurological disorders. I hope they can answer your questions better than I can.
Question: I live in the US. Where can I get good Health Insurance for a Visiting Parent (with Parkinson's) from India? I live and work in the US (Bay Area, California). My parents lie in India. My father suffers from Parkinson's plus disorder (most likely MSA - Multiple System Atrophy). I would like to have him diagnosed and treated for, by having both my parents over here. My parents have a multiple-entry Visitor VISA to USA. Where can I find good Health Insurance that can cover his treatment/care-giving expenses for his stay here?
Answer: I doubt you are going to be able to get it for him. It will cost you a lot of money if you can as most companies wont take him on as it is going to cost them a fortune and they know it going into it

Question: I want a tattoo... Please Help!? Okay so my predicament is a little weird... I have 3 half sisters ( we all have the same dad) Our father is suffering from MSA (Multiple Systems Atrophy... Yes is it a disease, I am sick and tired of people telling me that I am making that up... come over to my house and meet my father and tell me that it isn't a disease). I am not yet old enough to get a tattoo, but me and my sisters agreed that it would be cool for us to get matching tattoos that bond us together. Of course the tattoo should be about our dad bc he is what brings us together.
So I am trying to plan something creative that has something to do with our father... I was wondering what tattoos other people had that shared with sisters. Please help me and get creative on what we could possible get tattooed!
Thanks!!!
Sorry forgot to add... He cannot write with his disease... I love the idea of his signiture. I will try to find an old signiture of his. I like that.
Answer: I have 2 friends that are twins... their father passed away and they wanted to get similar tattoos to represent him... He had a tattoo of something witha tiger butterfly or something, but they both got tattoos with his initials and a butterfly on it... one got big initials and a small butterfly the other got a big butterfly with small initials, they both came out great...
some suggestions you could think about was, did your dad have nicknames for each of you? you could each get a tattoo with the nickname he gave you and maybe his initials... or something that he reall enjoyed doing with all of you as a group, another friend of mine got the symbol for the History channel for her dad because that's the only channel he would watch.
Good luck!
