Question: Short term memory loss, in a traumatic situation have you experienced short term memory loss? Some of you know, but Tuesday it will be 9 miserable weeks for me. My beloved family member Betsy, a 1yr 4 moth old rottie was taken to an opthamologist to correct a condition entropion. Entropion is where the eye lid flips towards the eye and the lashes run against the cornea, making the dog uncomfortable. Long and short of it, she was dropped off in the a.m. and I received a telephone call at 345pm stating the operation went perfectly, and words verbatim by the vet, "With your permission we would like to keep Betsy over night so she does not "paw" at her stitches. A little worried, I agreed. The vet called me at 0804am the next morning and told me my dog hung herself while trying to escape the facility. What was a collar on for in a holding area, more importantly...she was supposed to be monitored. I am seeing a therapist over this, and I have Acute Stress Disorder and Bi-Polar "Mixed" state. Have any of you had trauma severely to cause short term memory loss? Experiences? How long? See the dog was under the vets care and custody. Apparantly while she was NOT being watched so she would not paw at her stitches, she tried to get out of the pen, had a collar on (no-no collars in crates or holding areas) and she tried to climb over the fence and her collar got stuck on the top of the fence and she hung herself. Horrible death. I am suffering from this ordeal tremendously and wondering if any of your folks experienced it? Used to be right on top of things with work now always lookin' lookin' lookin to see what is going on. Yes, she hung herself while the vet was supposed to monitor her. Thanks for answers and sharing experiences yes, the doctor was kicking himself for telling me what happended. I took her for an examination to my vet to determine the death. Strangulation. Yes, I am sure she died from strangulation. 2nd opinion. Please folks, I am asking about the short term memory loss, and have explained why I have acquired it, I am not asking answers like "wow I never heard of a dog hanging itself" Again, I am asking if anyone has experienced short term memory loss after trauma, she was not just a dog to me, that is me, to others maybe "just a dog". How long did it last, and how did you cope with it? That is all I am asking. Please, serious answers. Thank you.

Answer: im sorry i dont get your question. your DOG hung himself? and then you experienced short term memory loss?
