Miscarriages

Question: Miscarriages? I saw an interview with Richard Dawkins in which he said that one flaw of evolution is that females waists are too small to support children, and that this imperfection results in some 20% of miscarriages. Now I may be wrong on the specifics, but he said something of that nature. So I am asking do you know what he is talking about? are many miscarriages a result of the physical anatomy of women like Dawkins suggested?

Question: miscarriages?????????????? I had a miscarriage at the end of jan and waited 2 cycle's before trying again. got pregnant end of may and miscarried again on july 23 and had a d&c. I am feeling very low and cant go throw this again. how many miscarriages did any one go throw before having there baby.

Answer: my auntie had 8 miscarriages 2 stillborn but now has two healthy children so never give up hope she never but if you have another miscarriage ask the doctors to run some tests to make sure their is not a medical problem

Question: How many miscarriages or spontaneous abortions can a woman have in their life? I've had several miscarriages before that has made me scared of getting pregnant now. Just can't bear to have another yet. What about deliberate abortions? How many times can you do it? I've never tried that, but I've heard of a woman who aborted 9 of her 12 pregnancies, so she only have 3 kids now.

Answer: I think you can have any amount of miscarriages/spontaneous abortions but I have heard you can only have so many surgical abortions before you can't even get pregnant. I have also had several miscarriages in the past and was weary of trying again after so many but I got thoroughly checked out for any physical reasons for the miscarriages. And started taking folic acid before I started trying again. Then when I got pregnant I rested all I could, avoided anything too strenuous and took the day off work if I was feeling even a little under the weather. I'm 14 weeks now and sure it's going to work this time. Good luck and don't be too scared of trying again. x

Question: What are the chances of having two miscarriages? I know statistics usually say 1 in 3 pregnancies end in Miscarriage. I lost a baby 2 years ago, and have finally got pregnant again but i cannot relax and am so scared of losing another baby. I cannot seem to find much info on consecutive miscarriages. Just wondered if anyone could shed any light ! I am only 5 weeks pregnant, so a long time to go before I can relax !

Answer: Hey, I just wanted to say that I have been in your situation. I miscarried my first at 13 weeks. I fell pregnant 4 years later. I was TERIFFIED that the same thing was going to happen again. I even went through a list of things in my head that I did last time to make sure I didn't make the same mistakes. I was ultra careful about everything I did and ate for the first 3 months. I was so parinoid! I sailed through my pregnancy with only a couple of small hicups. My son is turning 1 in 15 days. I can't give you any statistics but I think you should relax and enjoy your pregnancy. I know how hard it is, but enjoyed being pregnant so much more once I relaxed. I wish you the very best.

Question: How many miscarriages have you had and then gone onto have a healthy child? I have had 3 miscarriages now in the space of 9 months, the last one happened just under a week ago. The first 2 were twins and they miscarried within two weeks of each other at 10 and 12 weeks. This one i lost at just 4-5 weeks. How many have you had and have you gone onto have a healthy child after them? I just need some reassurance as i just cant seem to be able to stay positive at the moment. I dont want to go through a miscarriage again :(

Answer: My heart hurts for you. I have also had 3 miscarriages. One at 8 weeks pregnant, one at 16 weeks, and one at 5-6 weeks pregnant. Granted these were stretched out over several years (the first one at 17, the second at 21, and the third at 24.) It's never easy though. I am now currently pregnant (6 months) and everything is looking good. The doctor says he has no reason to believe that I won't carry to term and have a healthy baby girl. I know it's hard to stay positive. After my last miscarriage I just figured I'd never have children. Then just two months later I found out I was pregnant again and am still carrying. It can happen for you, too! Good luck, hon! I'm sorry about your losses though.

Question: What are the odds of having a stillborn after 2 miscarriages? I am 32 weeks pregnant and doing my daily kicks counts faithfully, but I can't stop thinking about stillbirths. I have had two previous miscarriages, one at 13 weeks and one at 9 weeks which makes me worry even more because I don't think I can handle the trauma again. I have had no live births and really anticipating this one. Has anyone had a stillborn after two miscarriages?

Answer: lol i am so glad i'm not married or looking to base my life on having kids. some people just don't feel complete until they have their almighty pregnancy though...don't worry you would only be complaining about them a few years down the line.

Question: How many people have had miscarriages after going off the depo shot? I have a healthy 7 yr old dauhgter had no problems conceiving or carrying her. I went on the depo shot for about a year and have been off of it for almost 2 yrs now. I've had 2 miscarriages. After searching it seems lots of people have miscarriages after getting the shot. Why are they not warning people of this? The depo shot should be taken off the market if you ask me. I would like to hear others thoughts and experiences with this.

Answer: i have been on the depo shot 3 times, i have chosen to go off of it in order to get pregnant. I am now pregnant with my 3rd. i have not had any issues with the depo shot causing any lasting problems in my life. i have heard of some people having problems ON the shot, such as breakthrough bleeding and pms-like symptoms but i don't know anyone who has had a miscarriage after getting off the shot. The way i understand it, the hormones in the depo are the same hormones that are in your body when you are pregnant and the same ones it a lot of birth control pills. If it was truly causing miscarriages, they would take it off the market. No industry can afford that kind of lawsuit so even if their motives suck, they will not allow their product to knowingly harm people. I am very sorry for your loss. i wish it could be different for you.

Question: What are the chances of getting pregnant after having 2 miscarriages? I have had two miscarriages within the past 3 months. We have been trying for a year and a half. Is there a problem with me, Should I get checked out? I don't know if my relationship can take another disappointment.

Answer: well i don't think that it ever hurts to get things checked out

Question: What are my chances or having a baby after 2 miscarriages and 1 baby? I have had two miscarriages and one baby girl. What are the chances I will have another baby? I had my daughter in between the two miscarriages. I just had this last miscarriage and I am worried about my ability to have another baby.

Answer: Every pregnancy has a 25% chance of ending in miscarriage. Having had two miscarriages does not have any impact on your future fertility, especially since you had a healthy baby inbetween. Relax, you'll have more children.

Question: What are some common causes of miscarriages? My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant off and on for almost 2 years. I have 2 miscarriages in the past 9 months. The doctor does not seem too concerned since my blood work is fine and I have already had one successful pregnancy. But, that was almost four years ago.

Answer: If you miscarry again, I'd ask for genetic testing. Is your other child with the same man? Miscarriages are caused by a number of thing. I lost my baby at 12 weeks. They can tell you all these "possible" reasons, from the baby just wasn't growing properly, to maybe fumes from something like paint, to a fall, to stress..... But they should be looking into tests to see if it was anything that could be prevented. Some woman miscarry due to lack of progesterone, and they take progesterone supplements and carry the pregnancy to term. Sorry for your loses, good luck!
