Question: Has anyone know or had a premature rupture of membranes cause by villositis bacteria? Has anyone know somebody who had a premature rupture of membranes cause by villositis bacteria in the placenta?

Question: Does anyone know what are the chances of having a second premature rupture of membranes? 2 months ago I had a preterm labor at 22 weeks, I did'n had any syntoms, only one morning I was cramping and when I went to the bathroom I notice that my water broke, I went to the hospital and they did confirm that my water had broke. My Dr said it was cause by a bacteria (villositis, chorioaminionitis) by have no idea why this happend. Does anyone have gone thru this before, I will like to try again, but I'm afraid it will happen again.
Answer: My friend just went through that. It is possible for it to happen again. Her doctor told her she would need to have a cerclage put in place as soon as she got pregnant again to prevent preterm dialation.
Question: pls premature rupture of membranes only 22 weeks? I am concerned my membranes have ruptured I am not leaking any fluid but the last time I urinated it was hardly Yellow and mostly clear also my belly looks smaller than before. My baby is still very active and moving around but I am fearful. has anyone experienced this what were your symptoms?
Answer: call your dr and ask. To help ease your mind.. If it did they have a procedure to try and fix the leak(kinda like a water bed fix). We have someone in our hospital that had ruptured membranes for over 9wks before they induced labor. she was on bed rest in hospital and monitored very closely for infection and fetal stress the whole time, but she made it to 34wks and baby was healthy.
Question: How common is premature rupture of membranes?
Answer: Not very, although I couldnt find an actual statistic.
My 1st was born at 37 weeks, without premature rupture of membranes.
My 2nd was born at 36 weeks, after premature and prolonged rupture of membranes (43 hours from water breaking, to start of labor, and another 6 hours before birth) A hospital would have c-sectioned me after 24 hours of ruptured membranes, but I had a natural labor and birth with midwives instead. (wonderful experience, btw)
Oh, and both my babies were totally healthy, aside from a lil jaundice which is normal, despite being "early"
Question: Does PROM really stand for Premature Rupture Of Membranes? Or is this just wishful thinking on my part...?
see, I'm playing along... sorta. :)
Answer: Passive Range of Motion in occupational therapy lingo.... Of course that's also what you get on one of those vibrating beds!
Question: possible premature rupture of membranes? I am 31 weeks pregnant today. I am taking medication for contractions on a need be basis. Today after laying on the couch for an hour I got up (and here comes the gross part) and I was wet through my undies and pants. I would say roughly an ounce or so of fluid. Since then no contractions and no more fluid. It was not pee and it was clear and watery. What might this be, it has been about 2 hours since it happened.
Answer: YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL. YOU RUN THE RISK OF GETTING A BACTERIAL INFECTION AND PASSING IT TO YOUR BABY. GO GET CHECKED. ASAP
Question: what system /organ in the body involved when there's premature rupture of membranes?? i mean, when a person has a congestive heart failure, of course the organ involve is the HEART. how about the rupture of membranes?! what organ involve?! i know that this only happened to a pregnant woman.
Answer: The "membranes" is the amniotic sac that surrounds the developing fetus in the uterus. rupture of the membranes is the same as when a woman's water brakes. Premature rupture is when they break and the woman/baby is not ready to go into labor.
Question: premature rupture of membranes...low fluid...?? my water broke on sunday (im 32 weeks 1 day) on monday i had a biophysical profile and the fluid level was 3 with 2 pockets of fluid. Today i had another bpp and the level was barely 2 with one small pocket in the left lower side...which after the ultrasound i am pretty sure completely leaked... with the fluid decreasing instead of increasing..... has anyone experienced anything like this or known anyone who has and what was the outcome???????????????
Answer: Yes that happened to me 11 months ago. I had 4 ultrasounds and bio physical profiles!! I was so frustrated! For me , I went into labor a few days after they were concerned about the fluid. As long as you are being monitored than try not to worry. My labor went just fine. Gave birth to a 7 lb 12 oz healthy baby girl. She is now 11 months old and walking all over the place!!!
Question: Pregnancy fear about premature rupture of membranes - Urine Leak or Amniotic Fluid? Hi I am 21 weeks pregnant and have felt a small trickle down the side of my legs after some physical activity (climbing stairs and getting agitated). It happened 3 times over 2 days but it was definitely not continuous. Each time it felt like a drop of water trickling down and that's all. The fluid was clear and odourless. It just trickles down and for the rest of the day, I am quite dry again. Then it happens the next morning and for the rest of the day, I am again quite dry. Altogether 3 times.
I have no other problems during my pregnancy(no bleeding, no pain) but am really paranoid as I know leaking water bag can bring real bad consequences. I have seen my gynae yesterday but she could not see any fluid when she checked as it didn't leak during the night. She gave me antibiotics to be on the safe side. SHe also mentioned the possibility of stress urinary incontinence. Sorry for being so long-winded. I thought I need to give all details in hope of some good advice. I really need reassurance, someone pls help!
Hi Darcy, my gynae did not see any amniotic fluid leaking when she checked and asked me to cough. The water flowing down is like a 5 seconds thing and then I am dry again. But since it happened 3 times, she wants to be on the safe side and gave me antibiotics to counter any potential infection with water bag leakage.
The problem is water is leaking but I cannot tell if it's urine or amniotic fluid as this is my first pregnancy. I am only 21 weeks though and am totally freaked out if it is going to be my water bag. This is too too early.
FYI, my gynae did not use any strips. She used something invasive to scrape some sample as I was totally not leaking during time of check up. That day, I had a trickle in the morning and that's all. All she saw was some mucus discharge, no amniotic fluid. Could I be leaking from time to time?
Answer: There is a possibility the drops are just urine. I know....a totally unpleasant thing to think about. :) However, your baby could be all snuggled up against your bladder right now and each time you move, your baby pushes on it letting out a little droplet. Believe me, you wouldn't be the first this has happened to if that's what it is!!! Since you went to your gyn yesterday, she probably used a strip (can't remember what they're called) to check for any presence of amniotic fluid. If you were leaking at all, I truly believe she would have been able to detect it. Sadly, though, our bodies totally betray us and do weird and embarrassing things during pregnancy, so don't feel strange or anything else if it is any sort of incontinence problem. There's not really much you can do when a little person is inside you pouncing on your bladder from time to time. Good luck with everything and I hope you are able to figure this out soon!
Question: why is premature rupture of membranes in pregnancy a high risk for infection? maternal and child care
Answer: Once the membranes are ruptured there is no barrier protecting the baby from bacteria which can enter the uterus from the vagina.
