Question: I need to know where the food goes when an infant is fed that has a tracheoesophageal fistula?
Answer: In babies with esophageal atresia, the esophagus doesn't go into the stomach. It just ends in a pouch, so nothing the baby swallows gets into the stomach.
Question: Where to treat or Operate a "tracheoesophageal fistula" on my 9 month baby?
Answer: A tracheoesophageal fistula is a congenital malformation (defect) where there is an abnormal tube between the trachea (airway) and the esophagus (leading to the stomach). It usually results in respiratory distress and infections, like pneumonia. Doctors typically repair it by removing the passageway between the two, and using tissue or teflon to graft over the openings in the airway and the esophagus. If your baby is nine months, it probably isn't that severe, and is reparable. Good luck, hope this helps! :)
Question: just wondering if any1 else had this happen? ok bare with me, my mom was born with syringaminella (a hole in her spinal cord that is filled with fluid), my son was born with tracheoesophageal fistula (the trachea is not attached 2 the stomach) {he had surgery 2 repair it}, my cousin was born with water on the brain & passed away @ birth, & my friend had a child that had a baby born with a hole in the heart.....now all of these ppl have a parent with RH neg. blood do u think that has something 2 do with there ailments? does any1 else know of some1 or had a similar experience? just wondering thank you!
Answer: I'm RH Neg and my mom and sister are too.... I have 2 children. My mom had 4 and my sister has 3.. ALL healthy. RH can cause alot of issues and if your preggers your doc should be informed so that you can get the shot for that. Once you have the shot it should stop anything that may or maynot effect your baby. My family has alot of RH Neg mothers in it. And tons of healthy babies. I doubt one has anything to do with the other. I would talk to your doc about it and see what she says.
Good Luck
