Question: Hiatal hernia with asthma...? So i was told i have a hiatal hernia along with esophagitis,and schatzki's ring o.o I'm only 21 so this came to a shock to me.. the doctor told me to take prilosec and all would be fine...Ok well i have asthma and ever since i have been having all these issues my asthma is much worse and i have constant chest pain and tightness along with a rapid off and on heartbeat.I read that the hernia can cause a nerve to go nuts and make ur heart and lungs go crazy but is there anyway to fix this..my life has completely changed i have to struggle to breath and deal with the constant pain.
is there anything that can help????
Answer: I have a hiatal hernia and I take Nexium. Sounds like yours is pretty bad. You probably have damage to the esophogus from acid reflux. Don't eat bologna, corn, popcorn, or any other foods that are hard to digest. You should be able to get a list of foods not to eat by searching the net. Absolutely no soda pop.
