Answer: Most of us don't have any changes to make to our lives. Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a thickening of the heart muscle on one side. As long as the thickening doesn't interfere with the blood flow, there is no health threat. That is why most aren't affected much. Myself, it has been a roller coaster year. Nine years ago my oldest sister had open heart surgery. She could barely walk 10 yards by the time she had the surgery. In the last few years she adopted the attitude that if she started having problems, she would know it before the doctor would. She stopped having her condition monitored by a heart specialist. Her heart stop almost instantly in the early months of this year. My parents suddenly stopped threatening to disown me if I got tested. Having this on my record makes thing difficult on the health insurance topic. One part of my heart is an inch thick where it is suppose to be 10mm. I now have a defibrillator in my chest so what killed my sister won't kill me. In four and a half weeks I will be able to raise my left arm and lift weight without ripping the two wires, that are attached to my heart, out of their spots. In four and a half weeks my life will almost go back to the normal for a 27 year old person like me.

Question: If my cat has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy should I move him to Hawaii (with me).? He wouldn't be able to fly in the cabin with me and he is very skittish and gets stressed easy? Do you think he would have a heart attack? Should we not go to Hawaii? (My sister lives there and I want to move with her) I'm from California.

Answer: sounds iffy, do you have to quarantine the cat like i had to do with my dog? i did it over 7 months in advance and STILL had to quarantine him for a month at 700.00. think twice before moving to Hawaii, it aint all that
